ITER (International Thermonuclear Experimental Reactor) is currently one of the most ambitious projects worldwide. It is a project aiming at building the largest nuclear fusion experimental reactor in the world; a magnetic fusion device designed to prove the fusion’s viability as a large scale and carbon-free energy source, based on the same principle as the Sun and the stars. The plant, located in the south of France, should start operating in 2025.
